SSWARS has been able to mobilize and sensitize masses about waste management and sanitation in Kampala slums through meetings and outreaches. SSWARS was also able to handover basic masonry tools to 20 masons trained by SSWARS as evidenced in the photograph below;
Twenty (20) masons were trained on sustainable toilet options through a five days theoretical and practical training session and on-job practical work that took place during the construction phase.
A community meeting was held in Mulago III, Kawempe Division on March 2007 to train and educate masses about good hygiene practices, waste management and sanitation. SSWARS is proud and happy to be part of the drive to promote waste management and sanitation in the above mentioned areas through trainings, outreaches and meetings with the local population.
